Existing and Pre Existing Ownership

The vehicle owner check will tell you exactly how many people have owned the vehicle in the past. There are two important reasons for this. One, it provides reassurance that the details written in the vehicle’s logbook are accurate. Two, the more people who have previously owned the vehicle, the more it’s value depreciates in the eyes of a potential buyer. This may really become a problem if you decide to sell it later. The more owners a vehicle has had, the more buyers see it as a sign that something is wrong with the vehicle and shouldn’t be purchased.

Checking a Vehicle’s Number of Previous Owners

HPI checks include car owner checks. For accuracy and reliability, we take advantage of data made available by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), allowing you to verify any information offered by the seller. Before you purchase any second-hand vehicle, always be sure to perform an owner history check, so you can be certain you know the vehicle’s real history.
